Squat Thrust

The predecessor and of the standard burpee that's just a combination of a squat and a plank. This is much easier and less explosive than the standard burpee, making it a great beginner variation.

The Basics

The squat thrust is primarily used as a strength exercise. It is more generally classified as a lower push movement. Since it involves significant activation of multiple muscle groups, it is considered a compound exercise.
